First Night in the cabin,
|
Some Front Views of the Cabin
Kind of like a surveillance photo, huh? Damn paparazzi... |
Lookie here... I have all of my windows in! |
This is the side looking out over the lake....you'll see that later. |
Alright, this is my all time favorite picture that I've taken so far. |
Moving Dirt...Instead of Rocks...
I rented the backhoe to get some rocks from my neighbor |
Ken says "I ain't moving them friggin' rocks." |
So we used the backhoe to fill in some holes and stop some erosion problems |
Big Ole Dirt Pile We've still got plenty of dirt left if we need any more |
Ken gets behind the wheel... Yes, you should be frightened |
Brian's gonna go up and over that dirt pile! |
Ken takes another scoop |
Ken crests the hill...everybody look out! |
Hauling the Mattresses
We had a little "issue" with the mattresses... As in, they were supposed to be delivered... |
Well, when they couldn't deliver, I got them to rent me a trailer to take them myself. |
Not exactly fun, but I was determined to sleep in the cabin that weekend |
I didn't bother setting up the log beds yet for fear of them getting ruined. |
My First Night in the Cabin!
And yes, here we are....my first night in the cabin! |
Dig the retro Empire Strikes Back bedsheets! |
Ken sleeps in his cot...we were too tired to unpack the big mattresses |
Ken says "enough pictures already...go to bed dammit." |
Chinking the Inside of the Building
Yup, still chinking. |
But we've moved onto the inside of the building |
A corner in the upstairs bedroom... that would be the fancy new mattress there.... |
The peak in the upstairs bedroom The chinking looks great, it just takes forever. |
The Trapezoid Windows | |||
The windows are in! |
No more plastic windows! |
Looks much nicer during the day. |
Here's a good shot from the loft looking out at my lake |
Building a Canoe Hut | |||
Carrying the lumber down the hill |
Gary looks happy to be outside |
Gary pretends to be doing something |
Me, of course, I'm really working, not just posing... |
Fancy, huh? |
Hey, it doesn't need to be fancy |
It just needs to keep the snow off of my canoe! |
And, we used a bunch of leftover lumber |
Oh, and here's a GREAT shot of my lake with
the Fall colors just starting to show thru. |
